In true Las Vegas form, the announcement was made as a spectacle, complete with a large coordinated card stunt in the Nevada desert. Over 1,300 people held up cards that measured 10 stories long and seven stories across to announce the start date for Britney: Piece of Me. “I’m so excited to finally share this news with all of my fans,” said Spears in a statement. “‘Piece of Me’ is a labor of love and I can’t wait to perform it in Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood.” Tickets go on sale September 20 for the show, which begins its run on December 27, during one of Las Vegas’ biggest weekends: New Year’s Eve. The pop icon’s extravaganza will cover her illustrious career as she performs over 20 of her biggest hits. Spears’ 50 shows will be a re-imagination of some of the best performances of her career, as well as include songs from her new album. Her one-of-a-kind style will radiate throughout the entire show, from high-end fashion to state-of-the-art technology.

That’s the first thing,” he joked to MTV News when we spoke to him a while back about rumors she could be taking on Sin City. Sky went on to offer some sound gambling advice before breaking down what makes for a unforgettable Vegas residency. “Just make sure your show is just something to be memorable. The Beatles’ Cirque du Soleil show [‘Love’] is awesome. I love that,” he added. “I think if people incorporate certain aspects like that into their live show, just make it a little more over the top and something that people want to come see again.” Of course, if Spears is looking for someone to collaborate with on the gig, Sky noted that he’s ready to take the stage with her “anytime.” Sky is, of course, a pro at entertaining Vegas crowds, having held a residency at The Bank nightclub at the Bellagio. And the “Party Rock” star knows a thing or two about how to party right in Sin City. “Hydrate yourself; make sure you get a lot of water,” Sky suggested. “Make sure you do your exercise. …

What was surprising, however, was that the pop princess spoke rather candidly about exes Jason Trawick and Justin Timberlake during her interview with Sam Champion. “During this album, I had a breakup with Jason that I went through that I wrote a lot about,” Spears said of her former fiance, with whom she split in January after a 13-month engagement. “Breakups suck, man! They do.” (Her untitled eighth studio album drops Dec. 3.) I have fun performing,” she said. “I feel like I’m at home on stage and I feel blessed that I’m able to do that, that this is my job.” Even for Spears, it’s hard to believe that her debut single, “…Baby One More Time,” was released 15 years ago.
